Simply Red
This year Mick Hucknall celebrates 25 years of unbroken service with the band he founded, fronted and named, Simply Red. The British soul-pop band were formed in 1984 and hailed from Manchester. The 1986 release of a re-recorded song of the Frantic Elevators "Holding Back the Years" firmly established Simply Red as a household name, where they have stayed ever since. A firm favorite they remain as popular today as they were 25years ago.
Spring 2009 will also see the group touring the UK, as the band will play ten arena shows during March and April, their last ever UK tour before disbanding in 2010. Performing hits spanning their long career. The band have also released an album called ?Greatest Hits 25' through the band's own simplyred.com label.
