Joss Stone shot to fame in late 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album, The Soul Sessions, which made the 2004 Mercury Prize shortlist. Stone was named the number-fifth predicted breakthrough act of 2004 in an annual BBC poll of music critics and became the youngest female singer to top the UK Albums Chart and the first female British act in history to have her debut album go to number one. Joss Stone has sold over 10 million albums worldwide records; altogether, she has sold more albums than any other female soul British artist during the 2000s.
